Celebrating World Sight Day in Vancouver

October was an incredibly meaningful and busy month for me and our team at Asgarpour Optometry, as we partnered with Clearly’s Change the View initiative in recognition of World Sight Day, celebrated internationally on October 8.

Together with Change the View and an incredible group of volunteers, we were able to connect with over 800 community members across three outreach events. During this time, we helped provide more than 200 pairs of prescription eyeglasses, distributed over 240 ready-made reading glasses, and handed out over 800 pairs of protective sunglasses to individuals who needed them most.

Meeting so many community members and having the opportunity to discuss the importance of regular eye exams was deeply rewarding. Watching people experience clear vision—some for the first time in years—was a powerful reminder of why access to eye care matters. It was truly an inspiring way to celebrate World Sight Day 2015.
